about

Originally commissioned by the Jerusalem Cinematheque for the annual Jewish Film Festival, "JLM 1913/1921" is a collection of personal impressions in sound, based on two of the earliest documents of Jerusalem on film dating as far as 1913 and 1921.

Created entirely within two weeks in late 2015, this mini-album is Markey Funk's exploration into the place that he's been calling his home over the last 20 years. The signature blend of tense cinematic funk and 60's psychedelia makes way for relaxed meditative electronica, which takes the listener on a haunting trip through day-to-day life scenes set in vaguely familiar places.

All track names are taken from the title cards in the actual films.
